Lord Mayor of London visits Romania between June 29-30

Lord Mayor of London, Dr Andrew Parmley, an ambassador of British financial services, visits Romania between June 29-30, in a bid to boost the business relations between the City of London and Bucharest.

Parmley will meet with the leaders from the government area and business area, as well as authorities for regulation and trade, to discuss about a closer collaboration between City of London and Romania.

“The links in areas such as the financial sector, education, development of competences, trade and investments are important components of the strong and special partnership between the UK and Romania,” said the British ambassador in Romania, Paul Brummell.

The visits takes place in the context in which City of London expands its international presence in financial services and consultancy. The discussions will cover manner through which London can support the big infrastructure and energy projects of Romania. He has scheduled meetings with Romania’s prime-minister, the finance minister, as well as with the governor of the National Bank of Romania. Also, he will discuss with the representatives of the local financial sector and Bucharest Stock Exchange about the financial connections between UK and Romania.

Lord Mayor is the leader of “square Mile”, as he is called in the Londoner financial sector. Parmley is the 689^th owner of this function with a history of a few decades. His primary profession is the one of professor.

“There are many opportunities for British companies in Romania- including in energy, infrastructure and financial technology sectors. As a result of the Brexit, it’s more important than ever to strengthen the relation with the world’s vibrant markets, but it’s essential to keep strong also the relation with the European partners,” said the Lord.
