Regina Maria, the private healthcare services provider owned by Mid Europa Partners, has taken over the medical centers Dr.Grigoras in western Romania.
The company said the acquisition is part of its expansion strategy in this part of the country. Regina Maria had opened its own clinic in Timisoara city six months ago.
“Even though we have entered on this market later, Timisoara is a key city for us. (…) Our medical services have now a complete coverage, both through our clinic in Iulius Mall, and due to three new clinics that are located in the center of the city and in Lugoj,” said Fady Chreih, the general director of Regina Maria.
The medical center Dr. Grigoras employs 70 doctors and has over 21,000 corporate patients. The company reported a turnover of EUR 1.5 million last year.
Dr. Grigoras center was founded in 2000 and initially offered obstetrics-gynecology services. Since then, the company has constantly added more specialties.
Regina Maria has been an active buyer in the recent period. In the last two months, the healthcare company has taken over private hospital PONDERAS in Bucharest and the Helio Medical Center in Craiova.
The company has over 3,000 employees and operates a network of 29 units across the country, which includes 4 hospitals and 2 maternities.
