Solina Group, a French company specialized in ingredients production for the food industry, reached a new agreement for the acquisition of Supremia Group, the biggest spices producer in Romania.

According to a release of Supremia from Monday, the agreement is conditioned by the approval from the Competition Council, which is expected in the next months. The value of the deal was not disclosed.

For Solina the acquisition represents another step in its expansion strategy in the European food industry, as Laurent Weber, CEO Solina Group, claimed.

„Supremia had a strong growth in the last 10 years. It’s led by a management team who built an impressive portfolio of functional solutions and customized mixes. We are positive regarding the Supremia team and we are excited to work together. This agreement is a major step for us especially in the Eastern Europe, Supremia will become our regional center. We are engaged in an expansion in Europe through a growth strategy on all the major markets and this acquisition is perfect for our services centers network on the continent. This acquisition will mean an efficiency for the acquisition process,” said Weber.

Levente Hugo Bara (in photo), the founder of Supremia, said that Solina is the best partner for Supremia.

„Supremia is currently an important player on the food ingredients from Europe and had a  rapid growth in the last 15 years, based on an efficient management system and a strong management team, as well as matching the company’s values. We recently realized that the maintenance of grwth directions as sole shareholder is more and more difficult and we decided a year ago to find the right partner for Supremia. Solina is the best partner for us and for the future of our organization with a development potential,” said Bara.

Supremia has the headquarter in Alba Iulia and it’s active in Eastern and Western Europe, as well as on Scandinavia.

Since he set up the company in 2000, Levente Hugo Bara built a corporation with more than 300 employees and sales of over EUR 52 million in 2016. The management team will remain within the company after the acquisition.
