McCann Romania – 28 awards at Cannes Lions in 6 consecutive years

McCann Worldgroup Romania won awards in Cannes for the sixth year in a row and remains the most awarded agency from Romania at the international creativity festival.

This year, the agency scooped 7 Lions for 3 different campaigns, which brings to 28 the total number of awards won by McCann Romania at Cannes Lions festival during the last 6 consecutive years.

“Bittersweet Pies” campaign, developed by MRM//McCann Romania for Paul Romania, gathered 4 trophies: Silver in Creative Data and Bronze in other 3 categories: PR, Media and Promo & Activations. “Pay With Blood”, developed by McCann Bucharest for Untold Festival, received 1 Silver and 1 Bronze in PR, respectively Media, while “Go Mono” for Radio 21 received Bronze in Promo & Activations.

“This is the best year of McCann network in Cannes. Europe is the region with the highest contribution, 39 Lions, and Romania is the second agency in Europe in terms of performances. I believe the most important is to repeat the performance every year. Congratulations to Catalin and Nir for the way they lead the McCann team,” said Adrian Botan, global executive creative director at McCann Worldgroup.

“This year also we are preparing to celebrate after Cannes, it is the sixth consecutive year we are winning awards. We are proud we managed to create a culture in which performance is part of the day-to-day work. It isn’t a surprise or a happening. I also want to congratulate the other Romanian teams who won. Together, we can put Romania on world’s creativity map and together we bring more respect for the work and executions from our country,” added Catalin Dobre, executive creative director at McCann Bucharest.

 “Brave Cut” campaign, developed by McCann Bucharest for Renasterea Foundation,  has received a double nomination in Media and PR.

During the last 6 years, McCann Bucharest won the following awards at Cannes:

2011: American ROM campaign won 9 awards, including Titanium and to Grand Prix

2012: ROM’s Romanians are Smart campaign gets 3 awards, 2 Silver Lions and 1 Bronze

2013: Digital Library for Vodafone gets 2 Silver Lions and 1 Bronze Lion)

2014: Vodafone and ROM each won 1 Bronze Lion for Ghita the Shepard campaign and, respectively Bucharest, not Budapest

2015: Ghita the Shepard and Sunday Grannies get 4 awards for Vodafone and McCann
