Musat&Associates assisted the Mecaplast group, a global producer of auto components, in expanding its activity in Romania, through an brownfield type investment.
The value of the project stands at around EUR 10 million and provides the inauguration of a factory in Romania, between Pitesti and Mioveni, in 2007, which will produce components for the new Dacia Duster. The investment in Romania also provides all industrial tools necessary to develop new businesses, especially for motor parts and elements painted from the inside and exterior.
„We are glad to be by the side of Mecaplast in its expansion process that sees the entry to the Romanian market. Mecaplast, Europea leader in the automotive industry, continues to have ambitious expansion plans, as proven by the recent merger with another player in the field, which allows Mecaplast group to expand to key markets for the industry, such as those in the US or China and to consolidate its portfolio of clients,” Monia Dobrescu, Musat& Asociatii partener said.
„The mandate of Musat&Asociatii included assisting Mecaplast along the entire process land purchase, starting with a complex process of due dilligence and continuing with the drafting and negotiating the documents of the transaction, as well as providing legal consultancy between the moment it was signed and until the closing of the deal,” Dobrescu said.
The investment of the Mecaplast group in Romania comes in the context of its agregated global strategy agreed with Dacia, as well as part of its strategy to cut as much as possible logistics costs and to be close to its clients, in the countries where they have production capacities.
