MedLife Eva, part of MedLife medical system, launched the first natural birth unit in Romania as a pilot project within the international program International MotherBaby ChildBirth Organization (IMBCO) which aims to reduce the ratio of C-section births to 10 percent over the next years.

In Romania, 39 percent of births are induced, compared to 22 percent in France and 20 percent in Great Britain. The objective of the IMBCO is to have this ratio drop to 10 percent, applicable in situations when the life of the mother and the baby are in danger.

MedLife Eva was integrated in the MedLife medical system at the end of last year. At the moment, MedLife has 3 birth units in Bucharest, Brasov and Arad, with a total number of approximately 10,000 births.
