Misu Negritoiu, the former head of the Financial Supervision Authority (ASF), said that one politician had asked him to oust the CEO of a multinational firm present on the local market.
“Probably the intervention that shocked me the most belonged to somebody who asked me to send home the CEO of a multinational,” said Negritoiu during an interview at Digi24.
Asked if this request came from a politician, he added: “Yes. I didn’t understand what it meant to send him home, but I was told that this was something that those before me did and I said ‘well, well, but I came here to do something else. If others did it, I can’t do it’.”
The former head of ASF said that he did not act on the request.
Negritoiu was revoked from the position of ASF president in May.
