Nuclearelectrica obliged to sell almost 6 pct of the energy output planned for 2017 on regulated market

State-owned producer Nuclearelectrica, managing the two nuclear reactors of the Cernavoda power station, is obliged to sell almost 6 pct of the energy production planned for 2017 meaning 609,457 MWh, on the regulated market and less than a half of the energy quantity sold this year, according to the a decision of the National Authority for Regulation in Energy Field (ANRE), says news.ro.

„The national company Nuclearelectrica SA informs the shareholders and the investors that on December 15, the National Authority for Regulation in Energy Field (ANRE) transmitted the decision 1960/14.12.2016 according to which Nuclearelectrica is obliged to sell 609,457.764 MWh in 2017 at an average price of 159.57 RON/MWh,” says the release of Nuclearelectrica.

This regulated market doesn’t include the transport tariff of the energy area, applicable to Nuclearelectrica, which amounts to RON 1.34/MWh.

In 2016, the energy quantity established through an ANRE decision to be sold on the regulated market is 1,454.562 MWh, around 14.42 percent of the scheduled production at an average regulated price of RON 162.71/MWh, says Nuclearelectrica.

The two units from Cernavoda ensures almost 20 percent of the total electricity production of the country.

Nuclearelectrica reported a net annual profit RON 64.5 million in the first nine months of the year, a drop by 51 percent compared with the same period of the last year ( RON 131.1 million).

The company recorded a production of 7,589 GWh in the first nine months of the year, smaller by 3 percent compared with the same period of 2015.
