Nuclearelectrica to extend negotiations for nuclear reactors 3 and 4 from Cernavoda

State-owned nuclear producer Nuclearelectrica plans to extend by six months the negotiations with Chinese company CGN for the construction of nuclear reactors 3 and 4 from Cernavoda, according to the agenda of Nuclearelectrica’s Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders from August 24.

On the agenda of the meeting is the „approval of negotiations continuation on the investments documents in the same conditions from the Memorandum regarding the development, construction, operation and decommissioning of nuclear reactors 3 and 4 from Cernavoda for a period up to 6 months from the institutional and corporate approval, with the applicability of the other provisions.”

Shareholders will also discuss the “approval of the mandate of the administration council to establish the terms and conditions that will be developed with the investor selected by the representatives of the SNN within the Negotiation Commission for the project Nuclear Reactors 3 and 4 Cernavoda, according to the Romanian Government memorandum 20/2683/13.07.2017”.

Shareholders are also expected to select a new Administration Council with a mandate of four months.

The Ordinary General Meeting of Shareholders will revoke the current board members Ionut Misa, Eva Georgeta Andreas, Cristian-Romulus Anton, Cristian Gentea, Iulian-Robert Tudorache and Elena Popescu.
