Number of Romanians with back payments at banks and IFNs down to 611,613 in October

The number of individuals with back payments at banks and non-financial institutions (IFN) went down to 611,613 in October, compared with the level from September, according to the National Bank of Romania (BNR).

Compared with January, in October the back payments number dropped by 102,308 persons.

The value of the back payments was RON 8.49 billion in October, out of which over RON 2.87 billion in national currency, RON 4.03 billion equivalent in EUR, RON 1.53 billion equivalent in other foreign currencies and RON 51.4 million equivalent in USD.

Regarding the delays, the back payments exceeding 90 days represented over RON 4.62 billion.

Moreover, the BNR statistics shows that there were back payments of RON 57.2 million with a delay of 61-90 days, respectively RON 39.6 million between 31-60 days.

The total value of loans outside the balance sheet exceeded RON 1.86 billion and RON 1.92 billion collecting.

The back payments for the firms and individuals amounted to over RON 13.5 billion at the end of October, a drop by 40.8 percent compared with the one from the same month of the previous year, says the BNR.

Out of this amount, over RON 5.8 billion were back payments in national currency, a drop by 41.2 percent and around RON 7.65 billion in foreign currency, lower by 40.8 percent. Out of these, around RON 4.6 billion came from Bucharest.

The total loans volume exceeded RON 221.5 billion at the end of October.
