PM Mihai Tudose met this Friday with a delegation of Ford company led by the vice-president Andrew McCall. The meeting is part of the constant dialogue between the Government and the business environment representatives, according to a Government release.
According to the source, McCall discussed about the implementation stage of Ford’s investment at Craiova, including the creation of 1,700 new jobs announced already by the company.
Within the meeting, Tudose underlined the importance of auto industry for the Romanian economy, both from the perspective of its share in the GDP development, and from the social perspective, by creating new jobs directly, as well as via the economic engagement effect.
“Romania is a favorable environment for investments’ growth and the development of Ford factory from Craiova confirms this thing. More investments means more jobs and better pay,” said Tudose.
According to the release, another topic of the meeting referred to infrastructure, where Tudose said that Pitesti- Sibiu highway and the Pitesti and Craiova connection are priorities for the Government and will be finished until the end of the mandate.
