Porsche Engineering Romania to enlarge team, develop Master’s program in Cluj-Napoca

Porsche Engineering Romania has announced plans to grow its Cluj-based team to up to 20 staff by the end of the year. Moreover, the company has partnered with the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca to develop a Master’s program.

The newest subsidiary of the German global engineering services provider Porsche Engineering Group GmbH plans to hire engineers in the fields of software development and traditional vehicle development.”For our subsidiary in Cluj, we are looking for young talented software and mechanical engineers with both technical competences and soft skills”, Malte Radmann, managing director of Porsche Engineering Group GmbH said in a press release. ”Winning candidates must be passionate about automotive engineering, eager to learn and ready to face future challenges on mobility and vehicle development to push the digitalization of the car forward.” Porsche’s local team will be working for the same portfolio of clients as the rest of the company.

Porsche Engineering Romania is also planning to cement its presence in the city of Cluj-Napoca by becoming actively involved in the academic landscape of automotive engineering. Porsche’s Cluj subsidiary has already partnered with the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca to create a Master’s program in automotive engineering. “The Master’s program in particular is a big step forward for training more specialists in this industry”, Marius Mihailovici, Location Manager Porsche Engineering Romania, said in a press statement. ”Our partnership is definitely a win-win collaboration for all three parties. Students can benefit from our experienced engineers’ expertise, the Technical University adds a new Master’s program in its portfolio, and, last but not least, our company can recruit highly-qualified engineers, already acquainted with our working environment.”

The partnership with the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca “helps the company bring its contribution to the development of the Romanian academic environment in the highly specialized automotive engineering,” the company said in a statement. The cooperation targets both master students and bachelor students in their final year and provides special lectures and specific seminars held by Porsche Engineering experts. The company will also award scholarships to the best students specialized in automotive engineering. Furthermore, the company is also cooperating with another Cluj-based academic institution, the Babes-Bolyai University.

Porsche Engineering Romania is the sixth development location of the company and its youngest. It completes the overall spectrum of services provided by the other Porsche subsidiaries in Weissach, Bietigheim-Bissingen (Germany), Prague, Shanghai and Nardò (Italy). According to the company, the main focus of the Romanian subsidiary is set on software and function development, with close links to the overall vehicle development and provides services that varies from vehicle-related software and function development to vehicle simulation and construction.
