Following a reorganisation process implemented at the passport control area of the Otopeni Airport, the processing rate of passengers at departure increased by 50 percent, the Bucharest National Airport Company announced.

Moreover, the company’s head Bogdan Mindrescu said, the waiting time of passengers at document control dropped significantly, to 2 to 5 minutes.

Passengers flying from the Henri Coanda Airport are processed at 13 booths of the Border police, with 26 control desks. According to company representatives, the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MAI) provided the number of officers needed.

The new control spots were tested starting 24 August. We will continue efforts to streamline our services and analyse the possibility to expand processing capacities, to make the transit of passengers through the Henri Coanda Airport fast and comfortable,” Mindrescu said.

Also starting next week, the arrivals area was also expanded by 2 desks and 4 control spots for charter flights.
