PwC Romania announces the opening of a Chinese desk dedicated to serving Chinese companies and individual clients and has recruited Wang Di as Chinese Business Group leader for the entire South-Eastern Europe.

“Chinese companies are looking for investment opportunities all over the world, including Romania and the South-Eastern Europe. By opening this Chinese desk, we are taking a step forward in servicing these Chinese investors, many of whom we have already as clients. We believe that Romania can act as the European gateway for Chinese trade and investments and we want to build on the long running partnership and friendship between China and Romania, which should be seen as an asset of our country. I welcome Di in the PwC family and wish him the best success in his new capacity,” said Mihaela Mitroi, tax and legal services leader, PwC Romania.

Prior to joining PwC, Di worked for another professional services firm, where he was responsible for developing connections with Chinese clients in relation to both inbound and outbound investments and trade opportunities between China and Romania and CEE.

He was responsible for all China related opportunities with the firm, with special focus in the financial services, infrastructure, real-estate, agriculture and green energy sectors, etc.

“I am very honoured to join PwC and to coordinate all the business opportunities of PwC in relation with Chinese investors in South-Eastern Europe. I believe that Romania and the wider SEE region have a huge potential in attracting Chinese investments and financing for large scale infrastructure projects, that China can provide. We have already in the pipeline major projects that entail the construction of airports, power plants and highways and I am looking forward to bringing such major investments to Romania,” added Di.

Di is a Chinese national that has studied in Romania at the Academy of Economic Sciences, where he obtained both BA and MA diplomas, specialized in International Economics and Business Administration. He is a native speaker of Mandarin Chinese and is fluent both in Romanian and in English.
