PwC Romania to analyze the administrative and expense structure of the Chamber of Deputies

PwC Romania has announced that their experts will assess pro-bono the administrative and expense structure and the administrative processes of the Chamber of Deputies in a premiere performance improvement project made for the Romanian public sector.  

At the end of the evaluation process, PwC Romania will issue a report with recommendations for streamlining and optimizing the administrative and financial processes of the Chamber of Deputies, a report which will be sent to the leadership of the second chamber of Parliament.  The evaluation process will take four months and the recommendations report will be issued in May 2011.  

The initiative of this evaluation process belongs to Mrs. Mihaela Stoica, MP and PwC Romania , which signed a pro-bono contract for this project with the General Secretariat of the Chamber of Deputies.  

“PwC Romania has been advocating for a long time that public institutions should be managed according to the same principles of efficiency and accountability that apply for private companies. We are enthusiastic to see that such an initiative took shape and we are looking forward to use our extensive knowledge in private sector consultancy services for the benefit of the public sector, in order to generate a long term improvement of the way one of Romania’s most important democratic institution functions”, stated Dinu Bumbacea (in picture), Partner, Advisory Services Leader, PwC Romania.   

PwC has been involved in several large scale consultancy projects for the public sector in other European countries. In Poland, PwC has done an operational analysis of the main state institutions, while in the UK the firm was involved in several Public-Private Partnerships.  

The evaluation process will be performed by applying the same requirements of efficiency as used for the private companies.  

“We believe that such performance improvement analyses are needed for all the state institutions and that is why we accepted to get involved pro-bono in this process that can become a landmark for the Romanian public sector”, concluded Dinu Bumbacea.
