Rafo refinery could receive EUR 330 million state guarantee

According to Prime Minister Emil Boc, the state guarantee will save between 1,500 and 2,000 jobs. President Traian Basescu said recently, “The company's request to receive state guarantees to raise a loan which will pay itself back seems reasonable. The government should respond positively, considering it did the same for Oltchim and Ford and will do for Renault, too.”The government has granted state guarantees of EUR 400 million to Ford and EUR 69 million to petrochemical producer Oltchim Valcea.
