Regional Development and European Funds Ministry launches project calls worth EUR 96.4 mln for public illumination

Management authority for Regional Operational Program from the Regional Development and European Funds Ministry, launches project calls worth EUR 96.4 million for public illumination efficiency increase.

„We have signed today the order for launching project calls that will result in an improved environment quality, in the decrease of greenhouse effects and energy consumption. A field currently popular at global level, in which anyone of us can get involved, besides the public authorities with investments financed within these calls,” said Marius Nica, minister delegated for European Funds.

The project proposed will take into consideration public investments that comprise the replacement  with light fittings with high energy efficiency and high durability of the old light fitting, energy consumers, the rehabilitation of electric installations, creation/expansion/reintegration of the public illumination system in the urban locations, the utilization of reusable energy sources as well as strategies development for energy efficiency for projects financed via the Regional Operational Program 2014-2020.

The administrative-territorial units in urban area, from Bucharest municipality and its sectors can submit financing requests for 6 months, starting February 18. The projects value has to be comprised between EUR 100,000 and EUR 5 million, supported by European funds.
