Romania imported over 729,900 tep of crude oil in January, with 218,100 tep (42.6 percent) more than the volume imported in January 2016, according to the data of the National Institute of Statistics (INS).
The crude oil production amounted to 295,500 tep, by 2.2 percent (6,800 tep) higher than the one from 2016.
According to the Energy Strategy project, published on the Energy Ministry, crude oil production will continue to slowly go down between 2030 and 2050, from 22 to 13 TWh (1.93 to 1.15 million tep).
In an ambitious case scenario, the crude oil production will have a tuning point in 2035, from which it will fall to zero.
