Romanian commercial deficit up by EUR 2.569 bln to EUR 11.344 bln in first 11 months of 2017

The Romanian commercial deficit (FOB/CIF) reached to EUR 11.344 billion in the first 11 months of 2017, an year-on-year growth by EUR 2.569 billion, according to the National Institute of Statistics (INS).

During January 1-November 30, the FOB exports amounted EUR 58.146 billion, by 9.5 percent over the level of the first 11 months of 2016, while the CIF imports amounted EUR 69.491 billion, an year-n-year growth by 12.3 percent.

According to INS, in November the FOB exports amounted to EUR 5.78 billion, the CIF imports to EUR 6.908 billion, resulting a deficit of EUR 1.122 billion. The exports increased year-on-year by 8.9 percent and the imports by 11.8 percent.

The statistics shows at the same time, that the inter-EU28 exchanges value in the first 11 months of the year reached EUR 44.168 billion for outflows and 52.721 billion for inflows, representing 76 percent of the overall exports and 75.9 percent of the overall imports.

Also, the extra-EU28 exchanges value during January-November, reached close to EUR 13.978 billion at exports (24 percent of the overall exports) and approximately EUR 16.770 billion (24.1 percent of the overall imports).

According to the official data, during this time interval, the important share in exports and imports structure are owned by cars and transports equipments (46.4 percent for export and 37.3 percent for import) and other manufacturing products (33.4 percent at export, respectively 30.9 percent at import).
