A household owned on average two mobile phones in 2016, according to the data of the National Institute of Statistics (INS).
In 2016, there were 175 mobile phones in 100 households, a growth compared with 2015, when there were only 165. The fixed phones started to disappear, so that their number reduced from 24.8 to 23.3/100 households.
To keep up with the current expenses, 10.6 percent of the households had to work supplementary, 11.2 percent received financial aid, without back payments, from relatives, friends, 6.5 percent borrowed from relative, friends and other persons and 7.3 percent from savings.
A share of 69.6 percent of the households can keep up with the expenses from their monthly income.
The taxes per income, the contributions to social insurances budgets other taxes had a share of 20.3 percent in 2016 from the overall expenses of a household, reaching RON 513/month on average, according to the INS.
The main destination of households’ expenses, the consumption, represented on average 71.7 percent of the overall expenses in households. The consumption expenses represented RON 1,810/month/household.
