Romanian operations generate 73 pct of RCS&RDS revenues

Seventy three pct of RCS&RDS’s revenues are generated by its Romanian operations, 16 percent by Hungary, 10 percent by Spain and one percent by Italy. The operator added 678,000 new contracts locally in 2016, reaching over 10.1 million internet, TV, fixed and mobile telephone contracts, according to the information transmitted by the investors of Digi Communications, the mother company of RCS&RDS.

RCS&RDS’ total revenues come from 12.4 million contracts of TV cable, fixed internet, STH and mobile communications services.

The group, with operations in Romania, Hungary, Spain and Italy, had a net liability of EUR 757.9 million at the end of 2016, a growth by 15 percent compared with 2015 and the debts maturity will peak in 2021 and 2023.

The debts maturity shows that RCS&RDS group paid EUR 27 million in 2017 and will pay EUR 43 million in 2018, EUR 60 million in 2019 and EUR 152 million in 2021.

In Romania, RCS&RDS group has 10.173 million of contracts of communications services, out of which TV cable account for 2.86 million contracts, fixed internet with 2.1 million contracts, mobile communications services with 3.2 million contracts, fixed telephone with 1.3 million contracts and DTH with 641,000 contracts.

According to the most recent data of Trade Registry, the main RCS&RDS shareholder is Cable Communications Systems N.V. (Netherlands).

In the report sent to the investors, the telecom operator has announced that Cable Communications Systems N.V. changed its name into Digi Communications N.V (‘DIGI’).

Also on April 11, DIGI announced its intention to list a 25 percent stake on the Bucharest Stock Exchange in May 2017.
