Romanian PM Viorica Dancila to meet Pope Francis in Rome

Romanian PM Viorica Dancila will meet Pope Francis in Rome as part of her visit to Rome, to be held between 10-13 May.

The agenda of the visit includes a meeting with Cardinal Pietro Parolin, Secretary of State of Pope Francis.

Moreover, the head of the Romanian government will also meet the Prince and Grand Master of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta Giacomo Dalla Torre del Tempio di Sanguinetto as well as the president of the Sant’Egidio Community Marco Impagliazzo.

“This afternoon, I will leave for a visit to the Vatican, where I will be received for an audience by his Sanctity Pope Francis,” Dancila said at the beginning of today’s government’s meeting.

According to the website of the Romanian government, the visit of the Romanian PM takes plate against the background of very good bilateral relations between the two states. The Centenary of the Great Union will be market at the Vatican via several cultural and academic events.

The PM will also meet Romanian students enrolled in universities in the Vatican. The meeting will take place at the headquarters of the Pio Romeno Pontifical College.
