Around 3.7 million EU citizens from Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) states work in Western Europe, Romanians and Polish being in top, says the Austrian Institute for International Economic Studies (WIIW).
The migration of CEE citizens in order to find a workplace has intensified significantly in the last years, Romanians and Bulgarians being the most mobile form the European citizens.
According to the data delivered by Der Standard publication at the request of the WIIW, 3.67 million citizens from CEE member states work in Western Europe.
Around 40 percent from the immigrants come from Romania, Poland, Bulgaria, Hungary and Croatia, while the Romanian and Polish seem to be the biggest beneficiaries of migration, 15 percent of Romanians and 6 percent of Polish have workplaces in the Western countries.
Considering the data, the Brexit theme is an important one for these countries, says Der Standard.
