The operational leasing market in Romania reached over 62,000 vehicles the first quarter of the year, up 3 percent compared to the end of last year.

The number of cars registered by leasing firms stood at close to 4,300, representing 16 percent of the overall number of registered cars and light vehicles.

“The results of the first quarter confirm the positive evolution of the operational leasing and fleet management market, in line with the forecasts made at the end of last year. The bigger share of full operational leasing services, which expanded by 8 percent versus the similar period of last year, proves the maturity of the market and the higher adoption rate of the benefits of our core product,” said Dan Boiangiu, president of ASLO.

The head of the association added that Romanian companies, including SMEs, are starting to use more the operational leasing services.

The association has appointed a new managing board as of May 4 that includes Dan Boiangiu, general director Arval Service Lease Romania – president, Bogdan Apahidean, general director Lease Plan Romania – vice president, and Radu Manea, administrator Porsche Mobility – vice president.
