Romania’s unemployment rate was maintained at 5.3 percent in April compared with March, and in the case of men it is by 1.3 percentage points higher than in the case of women, according to the National Institute of Statistics (INS).
According to INS, the number of unemployed aged between 15-74 years, estimated for April, was 471,000 persons, a decrease compared with March, when there were 478,000 persons, but also compared with the same month of 2016, with 549,000 persons.
On genders, the unemployment rate for men exceeded the one of women by 1.3 percentage points ( 5.9 percentage for men and 4.5 percent for women).
For adults (25-74 years) the unemployment rate was estimated at 4.2 percent for April ( 4.8 percent for men and 3.5 percent for women).
The number of unemployed aged between 25-74 years represented 74.2 percent of the overall unemployed for April.
