Rompetrol Rafinare’s consolidated net profit to USD 49.8 mln in 2016

Rompetrol Rafinare, member of KMG International, recorded a consolidated operational EBITDA of USD 182.5 million in 2016, up by 62 percent compared with 2015, according to the data transmitted by the company. The net consolidated profit in 2016 reached USD 49.8 million, a drop by 23 percent.

„The operational results reached records for Petromodia and Vega refinery made through the programs supported by the upgrade of production installations, as well as the optimization of the industrial processes and operations costs reduction. In 2016, the Petromidia refinery registered a record in raw material manufacturing of 5.4 million tones/year in the conditions of improving the energy intensity index and the processing costs reduction to the lowest level from the last 10 years, of USD 16.7/tone. Also, Vega refinery produced the highest annual quantity of bitumen of 91,000 tones. The constant performances of Rompetrol Rafinare were made as a result of the investments of KMG International and its only shareholder, the national company of oil and gas from Kazakhstan, KazMunayGas, reaching USD 1.4 billion starting 2007, the takeover moment,” said the general director of Rompetrol Rafinarie, Yedil Utekov.

In 2016 the raw material quantity processed by Petromidia reached 15,700 tones/day, a growth by 9 percent compared with 2015.

The cars fuel production grew to 1.25 million tones, while the Diesel fuel production reached 2.52 million tones in 2016, production records for these products categories. Also, the propene  production reached the annual record level of 125,000 tones in 2016.

The Energy Intensity Index reached 97.9 percent and the mechanical availability went up to 96.9 percent.

Rompetrol Rafinare SA exported in 2016 through its refinery and petrochemistry divisions, a quantity of products by 2.5 million tones, a growth by 3.7 percent compared to 2015, mainly to the partners from the Black Sea region.
