Simona Halep, the leading female tennis player from Romania, reaches the final of Roland Garros this Saturday following victory against Karolina Pliskova from this Thursday. Halep will face the most important match of her career and might reach the first place globally and a new trophy Grand Slam.

She will play against Jelena Ostapenko (47 WTA), who reached an impressive score in the first Gland Slam and exceeded the third tour. In six games, Ostapenko had 245 winning strikes. Judging on the average speed of forehand, Ostapenko is positioned on the fourth place, overrun by Thiem, Wawrinka and Nadal.

“I will play against a young opponent (20 years). I expect you, my fans, at the match. Thank you. There are many Romanian flags here, I hope one to be also at the winning countries. Virginia Ruzici helps me a lot and I hope the final to be good one,” said Halep.

Pliskova said at the end of the match with Halep from Thursday: “I bet Simona will win the final. I think I would have beaten 99 percent of the girls in my tennis match from today, but I had the bad luck to play against Simona.”

The victory from this Thursday placed Halep on the first place in Race to Singapore ranking, after at the beginning of the tour she was on the fifth place.
