SMEs established in 2014 at the latest and companies created by first-time entrepreneurs can apply for state grants to further their business, starting Tuesday.
Companies already registered can apply for grants of up to RON 120,000, while companies established by debutants can receive up to RON 45,000. The state aid scheme runs until 31 december 2016, and payments as part of the minimis scheme will be made until 31 December 2017.
The total budget allocated for the program for the current year amounts to RON 17 million. At least 141 entrepreneurs are expected to benefit from this opportunity in 2016.
Companies such as micro-enterprises and SMEs that meet the legal conditions (are employing up to 249 staff and have posted an annual net turnover of up to EUR 50 million, or have total assets valued at up to RON 43 million, lei equivalent) can participate in the program.
As far as first-time entrepreneurs are concerned (SRL-D) who open a limited liability company, grants can go up to RON 45,000 (EUR 10,000) and the total budget for 2016 allocated for the program amounts to RON 22.7 million, which is expected to benefit 501 entrepreneurs.
