Telecom operator Telekom Romania said the revenues grew by 0.4 percent compared with the same period of the last year to EUR 242 million. The EBITDA dropped sharply by 22.4 percent to EUR 38 million, according to the data published by Deutsche Telekom (DT).
The fixed operations generated revenues of EUR 136 million, a drop of 4.2 percent while the mobile operations generated revenues of EUR 106 million, bigger by 7.1 percent compared with the previous year.
The greatest part of the registered growth of the mobile division revenues was not registered by the revenues from communications services, but by telephones sales and other equipments, according the DT data. Thus, the revenues from telecommunications services of Telekom Mobile Communications Romania were up in the second quarter to EUR 81 million, a growth of 2.5 percent or EUR 2 million compared with the previous year. At the same time the revenues from equipments, telephones and accessories amounted to EUR 25 million in the second quarter, a growth of 25 percent.
Also the DT data show a new reduction in the investment budget, a drop of 9 percent to EUR 30 million in the second quarter.
The revenues of Telekom Romania were EUR 476 million in the first semester, a drop of 1.2 percent and the EBITDA results were EUR 76 million.
