Romania’s trade deficit went down by 3.5 percent in the first 11 months of 2010 due to an increase in exports, according to data released on Monday the National Institute of Statistics (INS). Exports reached RON 143.01 billion (EUR 33.99 billion) while imports amounted to RON 179.3 billion (EUR 42.63 billion).
While exports increased by 26.1 percent (RON) and 27.2 percent (EUR), imports went up by 18.5 percent (RON) and 19.5 percent (EUR), bringing the trade deficit to RON 36.28 billion (EUR 8.64 billion).
