PM Sorin Grindeanu appointed two new state secretaries at the Agriculture Ministry and Rural development, Daniel Botanoiu and Alexandru-Danut Potor, decisions published yesterday on the Official Gazette.
Botanoiu is taking again the role that he had three months ago. He was appointed appointed state secretary in the Agriculture Ministry in 2012, once he took over the portfolio from Daniel Constantin. He was held in this position by the technocrat minister Achim Irimescu until October 2016.
Potor is the president of the National Federation of Local Action Groups from Romania, and there were rumors about him for a state secretary role in November 2015, after the naming of the Ciolos government, but he wasn’t appointed after all. At the Parliament elections from 2016 he ran for Senate on the PSD list in Ialomita county, but couldn’t get the mandate.
