The US Embassy in Bucharest will be closed for all services on Thursday, November 24, due to the American holiday of Thanksgiving Day.
The Embassy will reopen on Friday, November 25.
Thanksgiving Day is a national holiday celebrated in Canada and the United States. It was originally celebrated as a day of giving thanks for the blessing of the harvest and of the preceding year.
The president Abraham Lincoln proclaimed a national Thanksgiving Day to be held each November in 1863.
