MSNBC host Rachel Maddow talked on her show about the massive anti-corruption protests that engulfed Romania in February and the attempt of MPs to make certain corruption offences pardonable once again earlier this month.
Maddow also mentioned the fact that Romanians took to the streets earlier this week once again after the controversial amendments were approved by MPs that would have allowed peopled jailed for corruption to be pardoned. One day after the protests erupted, MPs voted once again to cancel the amendments.
She also spoke about the protests that toppled dictator Nicolae Ceausescu in 1989. After the Romania segment, the TV host said that Americans have also took the streets in record numbers after Donald Trump’s inauguration ceremony at the beginning of this year.
