Vodafone Romania’s revenues up 2.8 pct to EUR 178.8 mln in quarter ending on December 31 2016

According to the report of Vodafone Group Plc.,Vodafone Romania had 9.4 million total customers (mobile, fixed voice and Internet of Things) at December 31, 2016, representing an increase of 355,587 users as compared to the same period of last year. Out of the total number of customers, 8.7 million were mobile customers.

Ravinder Takkar, President & CEO, Vodafone Romania, said: “During the final quarter of the calendar year 2016, we reached several milestones that translate into best in class services for our constantly rising customer base. Supernet 4G+ proved once again to be the most trustworthy network in the country, by obtaining two very important recognitions: The Best in Test certification from the independent auditor P3 communications for data and voice services, for the third year in a row, and The Fastest Mobile Network award, by Speedtest by Ookla, the world’s most popular internet test. In the services area, we continued to innovate and focused on allowing our customers to enjoy more the superior quality of our network, by providing exclusive quality content through the online video and music streaming service 4GTV+ and by introducing another premiere on the market, unlimited access to social media.”

Vodafone Romania’s serve revenues for the quarter that ended on Deember 31 reached EUR 178.7 million, an increase by 2.8 percent  compared to same period last year, on an organic basis.

At December 31 , mobile postpaid customers represented 41 percent, and prepaid customers 59 percent of the total mobile base. Mobile prepaid base as a percentage of total mobile base decreased by 0.1 percentage points as compared to the previous quarter.

Data usage increased by 107 percent for the quarter ended December 31, compared to the same period of last year, driven also by the higher smartphone penetration that increased by 3.9 percentage points in the last quarter of the year, compared to the same period of last year.

The mobile average revenue per user (ARPU) was EUR 6.2.
