With the orange code of snow and frost from the last days all over Romania, some trains have been cancelled and some roads have been blocked. Here are some apps that help you arrive at destination through the snow.
Google maps
Google Maps comes with a database of transport options, as well as with smart route planning, live traffic and public transport information.
Waze
If you are on the road and Google Maps doesn’t help you, then another navigation app, Waze, might help you find your way. It provides live crowdsourced traffic information, route planning and community edited maps.
If you are running out of transport options, a taxi might help you.
Uber
Uber’s app gives you live information on the location of local Uber drivers, whom you can contact with a few taps, as long as you’ve signed up for an account.
Beware, when conditions get bad and lots of people call on Uber, there is an increase in prices as a side effect, meaning even short journeys can cost pretty much.
If you don’t want to download another app, and you’re already on Twitter, then you might find some useful information here. You might find what concerned commuters write on Twitter, sharing travel advice, from packed trains to blocked lines.
