What to do in Bucharest this weekend?

With winter is slowly coming to an end, the warm weather is announced and fresh events are prepared. Here are some of them!

The International Circus Festival will take place at Globus Circus starting Thursday and until Sunday. The event is supported by the Bucharest Municipality Mayor Office and General Council of Bucharest Municipality. Among the circus attraction there will be elephants,  seals, horses, camels, tigers, dogs and parrots mastership. The shows will take place on Circ & Variete Globus on Thursday and Friday from 10 AM and from 11 AM on Sunday. The tickets prices range between RON 25 and 60.

Jazz lovers can enjoy Jazz in love concert at ARTea tea house on Saturday from 8 M. Madalina will sing popular jazz songs and musicals. The attendance requires reservation.

The fans of Robin and the Backstabbers can see them in a concert at Fratelli on Saturday from 9 PM. In the tournament there will be also The Mono Jacks and Travka, going also in Iasi, Cluj and Timisoara. Robin and the Backstabbers will present also “Restructuring” project.

Bon Jovi fans can attend the Bon Jovi Tribute with „New Jersey” band at Hard Rock Cafe on Saturday from 10:30 PM. „New Jersey” will sing popular songs such as “Bed Of Roses”, “Living On A Prayer”, “Keep The Faith”, “Blaze Of Glory”, “Runaway”, “It’s My Life”, “Always”. The tickets price range between RON 40 and 55.

If you want to go to a stand-up comedy show, you can go to Copper’s Pub on Sunday at 8:30 PM. It will be hosted by the three comedians Cristi Popesco, Cristian Dumitru and Alex Serban.

Theatre lovers can go to the play Titanic Vals at Odeon Theatre on Sunday at 7 PM. In the distribution are: Ionel Mihailescu, Antoaneta Zaharia, Dorina Lazăr, Nicoleta Lefter, Sabrina Iaschevici, Marius Damian, Ruxandra Maniu, Ioan Batinas, Alexandru Papadopol, Pavel Bartos. The play is directed by Alexandru Dabija and the scenography is made by Helmuth Stürmer.

Opera lovers can choose the play L’Elisir d’Amore at The National Bucharest Opera on Sunday from 6:30 PM. The play is directed by Marco Gandini, and as he says „the story and the music from L’Elisir are somehow contemporary, we don’t find in them anything old. We find understanding in the fear of young teenager in love and with low life experience, who believes in the illusion of a medical drug that can solve his love.”
