What to do in Bucharest this weekend?

The beginning of April brings the atmosphere of the warm spring with interesting events. These are our suggestions!

On Thursday, starting 7:30 PM, the bilingual Chinese-Romanian theatre show “Luceafarul”, remake after the poem of Romanian national poet Mihai Eminescu, will take place at the Romanian Cultural Institute.

On March 30, at 7 PM, on the stage of the Bucharest National Theatre, you will be able to see the performance La Bayadere – Nation of Illusion, a commemorative story passed down beyond memory and history. The JTI Encounters hosts in Bucharest the most important Japanese company of contemporary dance.

From March 28 until April 2, the International Experimental Film Festival Bucharest BIEFF will take place starting 8:00 PM at Cinema Peasant Museum and at Cinema Elvira Popescu. The new edition presents the most innovative film experiments of the last year, with a special focus on the works of outstanding visual artists who seldom expose their works in cinema rooms. Also, this year’s edition stands under the sign of the Maya civilisation, IN LAK’ECH ALA K’IN, „You are another me”, creating an empathy exercise.

Jazz lover can go to the Jazz in Church 2017 festival that will take place between March 29 and April 1 from 7:00 PM at Lutheran Church. The only jazz festival in church is at the fifth edition and includes legends of the European and American jazz scene, as well as young musicians.

Also, the event Full of Jazz – A Profane Jazz Weekend, from April 1 at 9 PM to April 2 from 8 PM at Baneasa Shopping City. The singers will be Maria Raducanu, JAZÚ, Marius Mihalache & Band, Viorica Pintilie & Ciprian Pop.

Theatre lovers can choose the play “Ma tot duc” at Metropolis theatre, from 7:30 PM on April 1. In the leading roles are Oana Pellea and Mihai Gruia Sandu.

Also, at Metropolis theatre you can see the play “How women are conquested” on April 2 from 3 PM, with Claudiu Bleont, Angel Popescu, Gavril Patru, Liviu Lucaci, Alexandra Salceanu, Irina Caramizaru, Alexandra Laura Badea, Sorina Stefanescu. The director of the play is Liviu Lucaci.

As it’s announced a sunny weekend, it’s time for sport. The community “Hai sa socializam” organizes the event “sport in the park”, in Crangasi park.
