What to do in Bucharest this weekend?

This weekend Bucharest brings a whole new series of events on the table that cannot be missed by anyone.

The third edition of the art and urban culture festival CreativeFest, organised by the Bucharest City Hall through Creart will be held between July 22 – 24 at the Romexpo Pavillion. The three-day event consists of graffiti and freestyle presentations, as well as space painting, 3D urban art , skateboard and bicycle acrobatics and many others. CreativeFest will also bring on its stage renowned musicians, such as Redman, Dub Fx, Dilated Peoples, CTC and Suie Paparude. Access to the event is free.

This weekend also overlaps with the third week of the “Theatre under the Moon” theatre festival, organised by InDArt. The festival will take place in the Quantic Garden (3 minutes distance from the Grozavesti subway station) from 18:00 and will offer participants various cultural and artistic events, such as photography exhibitions, improve theatre performances and concerts. On Saturday, the band Barter will perform on stage after an ArtGenerator Theatre show and an improve theatre performance, while on Sunday, InDArt Theatre will hold the show “Red”, directed by Bogdan Gagu. Tickets and weekly passes can be purchased at the event place or online.

After the popularity of the first two events, Upstairs! continues the series of day parties SkyAffair with a third one in Upstairs bar located on 24, Sevastopol Street. The theme of this party is “Candies, Ice & Everything nice” and will offer live DJ music. The event will be held on Sunday from 13:00 to 18:00.

Last, but not least, a bicycle race dedicated to raising awareness and fighting melanoma skin cancer called “Cyclists pedaling against melanoma” will be held on July 23 from 19:00 in Izvor Park. All volunteers who will participate in this event will ride their bikes on the route Izvor Park – Bd. Natiunilor Unite – B.P.Hasdeu Street – Berzei Street – Calea Buzesti – Victoria Square – Calea Victoriei, ending at the starting point in izvor Park as a way to raise awareness and educate people about this form of skin cancer. This event is part of the “A future without stains” campaign organised by the Federation of the Cancer Sufferers Associations in Romania and is supported by the traffic police.
