Romanian pavers and vibropressed borders manufacturer Symmetrica has opened its fourth production unit in Prejmer, Brasov county. The new factory is a EUR 2.1 million greenfield investment.

30 percent of the money came from the company’s own funds while the rest was a bank loan, said Sebastian Bobu, managing director of Symmetrica. According to him the company has invested EUR 14.4 million in the past 18 years in setting up the other three factories which are locates in Veresti (Suceava county), Podu Iloaiei (Iasi county) and Bolintin Vale (near Bucharest).

The new factory produces 1,500 sqm of pavers and border per day, bringing the company’s total production capacity to 9.500 sqm per day.

The local market for pavers and border will increase by 5 percent this year, both in value and volume, and will continue to be on an upward trend in the years to come said Bobu. Symmetrica expects a turnover of EUR 16.2 million this year and a market share of 22 percent which makes it market leader, according to the company.
