One Romanian was injured in the deadliest mass shooting recorded in US history. Las Vegas authorities have announced that approximately 50 people are dead and 406 people were transported to hospitals after a man started shooting on an outdoor concert.

“I don’t post personal stuff on FB but I really need help right now. Please pray for my son Luca who got shot in Las Vegas shooting. Right now he is in surgery in critical condition and he would appreciate your prayers,” wrote on Facebook Carmen Iclodean, the mother of the 23-year old Romanian injured in the attack.

Luca Iclodean was among the crowd of people attending the concert when the shooting started.

The Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE) confirmed that one Romanian citizen was injured in the attack.

According to American media, the main suspect in the attack is Stephen Paddock, 64, a white male from Mesquite, Nevada.

The police forces said in a statement that Paddock opened fire from the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay hotel, across the street from the concert venue. SWAT troops found him dead when they entered the room.

“My warmest condolences and sympathies to the victims and families of the terrible Las Vegas shooting. God bless you!”, wrote US president Donald Trump on Twitter after the attack.

Terrorist group Islamic State claimed responsibility for the attack.
